The Canadian Values Conversations initiative is conducted under Canada’s Tri-Council Policy provisions administered according to the Ethical Review for Research Involving Human Subjects procedures approved by Royal Roads University’s Academic Council. Royal Roads University is located in Victoria, B.C. The protocol includes assurance with conflict of interest guidelines, provision of informed consent, and protection of privacy, confidentiality, and anonymity. Respondents to the survey are assured that they cannot be identified with their responses, and participants in values cafés and interviews will not be identified unless they specifically agree to be.
Under the aegis of Environics Research this project has been registered with the MRIA (Canada’s Marketing Research and Intelligence Association). The registration system has been created by the Canadian survey research industry to allow the public to verify that a survey is legitimate, get information about the survey industry or register a complaint.
